Last night at the red rose comedy club!
Had the pleasure of attending the last night of the red rose comedy club on seven sister’s road in north London. The comedy club which was also a working men’s club has closed down to make way for a snooker hall, leaving its promoter Jon Briley and others to find an alternative venues.
Started some 21 years ago by Ivor Dembina the club has played host to many famous up and coming comedy names so it was fitting the evening started off with pappy’s fan club. Four very funny guys who put many established comedy names to shame, There energy stage presents work rate is brilliant. Even when things go wrong the crown were still behind them.
Tom parry a full time Wolves fan reminds me of a modern day Jimmy Edwards in the way he acts and sounds. If you get the chance go and see them.
Jimmy Edwards
There were other contrbutions from Tim vine the king of one liners, Hattie Hayridge ,Robin Ince, Ian Cognito , Daniel Kitson. The club has moved to a new address The Red Hedgehog in Highgate please support them.
